From Susan and Norman Hom
| Dear Ms. Tadaki, Assets Teachers and Staff:
I can remember Scott’s first day of school at Assets. I was picking him up at the car pool lane and saw him running to the car with a hat fashioned after an octopus, something he had created in Mrs. Ishida’s class. The body of the octopus was the hat’s crown and the tentacles hung like dreadlocks. The tentacles bounced in the wind as he got into the car. I asked him how his first day at Assets was and he exclaimed, “better than best”! Better than best, now, how great can that be? It’s been like that for Scott over the last seven years at Assets. Thanks to his excellent teachers and Assets’ inspirational leadership, Scott has thrived as a learner. Not only that, he has developed into an avid and enthusiastic reader, something difficult to imagine seven years ago. Thank you for all you’ve done for Scott. As you know, he’ll be transitioning to Mid Pacific Institute. Scott is excited about this new chapter in his life, but Assets will always be a part of who he is. Yes, Assets is better than best! With our mahalo and aloha, Susan and Norman Hom P.S. We would like to contribute the enclosed to Assets. We are grateful for the help provided to Scott and hope that this token of appreciation will help a student just as you’ve done for Scott. |
