School Facts
ASSETS School, a co-educational, independent K-12 school has been educating students who are gifted and/or dyslexic since 1969. ASSETS originally served students in Grades K-6, but expanded in 1978 to include Grades 7 and 8. The average K-8 enrollment for the is 260 students. The High School opened in the Fall of 1991 with an enrollment of two students and has increased to a student body of over 100. The faculty is comprised of approximately 40 teachers in the K-8 program and 20 teachers in the High School. A librarian and seven other resource teachers in art, music, Physical Education, and computers round out the faculty. All teaching faculty are guided by the expertise and experience of program administrators and curriculum specialists who supervise classrooms, teachers and students; observe and evaluate student placement; interpret assessments; and serve as liaisons to parents.
The K-8 school year is based on a trimester schedule. The High School school year is based on a four-quarter, nine-month schedule. Both begin in the Fall and end in the Spring. ASSETS is supported by income derived from tuition, grants, and donations. Tuition assistance is awarded based on financial need.
