The Key 3 Routine Comprehension Strategy Instruction
Based on Joan Sedita's published curriculum
The Key Three Routine is a combination of comprehension, writing and study strategies that help students understand and learn content information. The routine helps provide effective comprehension strategy instruction using existing content material. Through direct instruction, modeling, and classroom practice, the goal of the Key Three Routine is independent application of comprehension strategies. The Key Three Routine is helpful for all students, but it is crucial for struggling readers in particular.
